Wasted Film Festival was a sustainability-focused short film competition by spudFILM, hosted by the arts and environmental charity SPUD at spudWORKS in Sway, Hampshire. The brief was to give the festival an identity that felt distinctive, culturally sharp, and easy to rally around without pretending it was something bigger than it was.
Although rooted in the New Forest rather than a huge international circuit, the festival tackled global environmental and social themes and attracted submissions from further afield. The work explored how naming, tone, typography, and promotional assets could help a focused regional event feel memorable, credible, and worth paying attention to.
